Well, I finally can say I saw Weezer live!
I attended the show on August 3, 2016, and it was an absolute blast. Panic! At the Disco, while playing mostly songs from Death of a Bachelor also performed a nice blend of older tracks, included “I Write Sins, Not Tragedies”. Not only were Brendon Urie’s vocals absolutely spine chilling, but also his behavior as a frontman was superb; the man clearly was born to entertain.
Weezer was nothing short of wonderful. The band too played many full songs from Weezer/The White Album, but they were very aware that their fans also wanted to hear their classic hits. Instead of playing just a few of the hits, they instead played self-created medleys of their own songs. It was great! Instead of hearing a few here and there, as a fan, you heard about 20! The band really showcased their humor in the stage design as well , with dancing trolls in the background during “Undone” and swinging ice cream cones during “Perfect Situation”. Rivers even did a short 10 minute stand up set while playing acoustically on the piano!
I’m so happy I was able to catch this show and have this experience. I left the night with a huge grin and full of invigoration.
