Back on November 12, 2016, I was able to see a band I love, a band I hadn’t seen since 2011, a band I have never seen play with its original line up. That band, well, that band was the Bay Area’s own Dead To Me. The band was touring in support of an EP newly released on Fat Wreck Chords, a label that appears to be a home away from home for Dead To Me.
For the first time in years, the original line up of the San Francisco punk act took the stage, with Jack Dalrymple gracing the stage alongside the rest of the band once again. I stood there, in the large room Highland Park’s own The Hi Hat uses to fill with sweaty, crowd-surfing bodies, and I sang along with a full and happy heart. It was amazing to listen to them play songs from the Little Brother EP and the noteworthy full-length, Cuban Ballerina, with Jack and Chicken singing back and forth once again.
If you like punk music, if you like melodic music, if you like honest music…take a listen to Dead To Me.
