Guys. Stop everything. Checkout this Riot Fest 2017 line up announcement.

Because after 21 years…JAWBREAKER is reuniting to headline the Chicago festival (along with the likes of Nine Inch NailsQueens of the Stone Age, Wu-Tang Clan, and M.I.A.). The band was active for 10 years, spanning from 1986 – 1996, following the acclaimed 1995 release, Dear You.

Jawbreaker’s 1993 release 24 Hour Revenge Therapy is arguably the band’s breakout (and best) record, leading to opportunities for them to open for bands such as Nirvana. The band had a similar challenge to others of the time – such as Green Day – in that, the more success they achieved, the more their fan base turned its back on them, dubbing them “sellouts”. Out of frustration and tiredness, the band had planned to break up prior to the release of Dear You.

Fast forward to 2017…and the unthinkable happened: they’re back, if only (for now) just for a weekend!

Ps…my birthday is on 9/14, and the festival every year falls sometime around or during it. I should go, right????
